 OUR CHICKENS

Our chickens are whole birds and are provided to you flash-frozen and packaged individually for your convenience. On average our chickens weigh 4.5-5.5lbs. Our chickens forage on organically managed fields managed by Harrington’s Organic Land Care with plants, seeds, insects, and worms in addition to locally produced Connecticut concentrate feed made only with vegetables. WHY SHOULD I JOIN?

  • Healthy: Our farm’s healthy deliberately managed soil results in a healthier food source for the chickens transferring directly to your food source.
  • What they don’t have: No antibiotics, growth hormones or injections in WSF chickens – just and wholesome!
  • Sustainable: Once your food is raised we recharge the land, putting back what our products take out with techniques like rotational grazing and organic field management.
  • Quality: Nutrient dense with no compromise to the flavor!
  • Traceable: Validate the source of your families’ food with an appointment to visit the farm and witness directly the care and process by which their food is actually raised.
  • Community: When you support local food, you know where your food comes from and you reduce your carbon footprint – it’s not only a commitment to your health, but also to the community.
  • Easy: Choose a CSA share that’s right for you, select pickup location, and pay online!

WHAT IS COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA)?

CSAs are a wonderful opportunity to buy directly from the farm and experience the rewards of fresh local food. You’re able to choose the size of your share, in order to plan according to family size. CSAs are a cost-effective investment that creates a personal connection to your food while making a meaningful and impactful commitments to your farmer. Signing up means you commit to your health, the health of your local community, and the health of the planet. At the end of the day your commitment to our Summer CSA means we can maintain our pledge to raising sustainable healthy food that is good for everyone.
